We love cooking! And eating! Every year we show case our cooking skills with our Come Dine with Us event. The children prepare, cook and serve food to their parents, grandparents, younger brothers and sisters.
There is always a lot of excitement leading up to the event, (as Luciana exclaimed,) “Now, we’re going to rock and roll!”
The children are accomplished cooks, and enjoy tasting the ingredients whilst cooking, “Look what happened, I did magic. Cheese is so yum for me.” (Zainab.)
The children’s responses to the menu are always candid: “Hello olives! I won’t eat you this time.”
The different cooking methods we use help the children understand how science and maths works in an enjoyable way.
Everyone involved loved the food. There were a lot of requests for the recipes, (the children enjoyed the new foods so much, they will be adding them to their family favourites). We were all thankful to have taken part in this special event where we can spend time together.
