This term in Year 1, our art lessons have been all about discovering different types of lines! We’ve practised making straight, wavy, cross-hatch, horizontal, and vertical lines, and even tried out different shapes. One of the most exciting parts? We experimented with drawing to music, letting the sounds guide our lines and shapes!
To put our new skills into action, we took a trip to Forest School to draw from observation. We looked closely at the trees, noticing the unique lines, textures, and colours they had. Each tree gave us fresh ideas, and we loved capturing the details with our pencils. 🌳
It’s been an amazing to be learning about art and nature, and we can’t wait for more creative adventures!
