On Tuesday, 3rd December, Year 5 enjoyed an incredible day at the Greenwich Maritime Museum. After a smooth journey on two busses, the class arrived eager for a day of learning and adventure.
The children split into two groups to explore different exhibits. Freya’s class began at the ‘Sea Things’ exhibition, sketching intriguing objects that sparked their curiosity. Meanwhile, Jen’s class delved into the ‘Polar Worlds’ exhibit, discovering the captivating story of Shackleton and Antarctica, which links perfectly with their current writing unit.
After reuniting for a sunny lunch outside, everyone had a blast playing at The Cove, the museum’s maritime-themed playground. To ensure both groups saw everything, the classes swapped exhibits for the afternoon.
By 2pm, it was time to head back, arriving at school just in time for home.
A big thank you to our parent volunteers for helping make the day so memorable!
