Visit to Burgess Park (Y1)

Last week, Year 1 had a fantastic trip to Burgess Park as part of our geography topic, Local Area and Maps. Using our fieldwork skills, we explored the park to answer the question: What do you like about Burgess Park and what could be improved?

We visited lots of exciting areas, including the BMX track, bridges, and the lake. It was so much fun to take our learning outdoors, and we can’t wait to go back!

Here’s what we loved about Burgess Park:

  • The range of different areas to explore.
  • The open fields for doggies to run around.
  • The bridge over the lake where we could watch the birds.

And here are some of our ideas for improvements:

  • Some areas could use a good clean.
  • More trees and bushes to attract wildlife.
  • A duck and goose school!

Well done, Year 1, for your brilliant observations and ideas!
