Some of our KS2 girls took part in a weekly football workshop during the first half of this term. They were then invited to an event on Wednesday 26th February where they had the opportunity to show off all the skills they have been learning. These skills were not only football related. They also learned a lot about teamwork, respect and resilience.
We have a girls football team at Michael Faraday, coached by Franny, who are currently competing in the local school’s league. We also have a ‘Girls only’ day each Monday in our MUGA as we really want to encourage our girls to develop their sports skills. There are lots of opportunities locally for girls to get involved so please keep a look out!
Next Saturday, 8th March is International Women’s Day and there will be lots of events taking place to celebrate, including another girl’s football tournament on Friday 7th.
