Not only was it World Book Day last week, but Year 2 also had a very special visitor! Mary Seacole came to tell us all about her life and her achievements. She entertained us with stories about her travels to different countries and her successful business ventures. We learned how Mary opened her British Hotel during the Crimean War to care for soldiers and how many were touched by her medical skills and her kindness. Mary got us involved singing songs and acting out different characters in her story. We learned so much about her and it really helped bring our History topic to life!
