Magic Paintbrush: A secret Gift (Y1)

Today, something magical happened in our classroom! We discovered a Magic Paintbrush, tied with a red ribbon and a note that read:

“I give this gift of a magic paintbrush to you. Use it only to do good for the poor.”

We imagined how we could help others—painting food, homes, or fresh water—and then brought our ideas to life using watercolours. After, we wrote sentences explaining our paintings, using “and” and “because”.

To end our reflective lesson, we discovered a story called The Magic Paintbrush. Over the next two weeks, we’ll use it to inspire our own writing!

Who knows what magical adventures await?
