We said, ‘Hello to Spring!’ on Weds 19th March when the children visited Pembroke House – a short walk away in Tatum street.
With the help of Capucine from Pembroke House, Catherine, Sara and some parent volunteers, the children planted sunflowers, sweet peas, broad beans, runner beans and marigolds.
Capucine will kindly look after them in the green house until after Easter. Then we will plant the seedlings out in our new vegetable planters at school.
We also helped to make an insect refuge out of old pallets, branches, sticks and straw to attract beneficial creatures and wildlife to the garden.
