Arctic Fox Poems (Y1)

To support our writing based on the story Lost and Found by Oliver Jeffers, we spent a lesson creating spine poems about an Arctic fox.

Working together, we built a word bank filled with adjectives, nouns, and verbs. We then used these words to craft our own descriptive poems.

Here are some examples:
Fluffy ears listening.
White tail wagging.
Smooth nose sniffing.

The children worked incredibly hard—not only to present their work neatly, but also to ensure their writing made sense and included key grammar features such as capital letters, finger spaces, and full stops.
