In Reception, the children have been working hard to develop the control needed for writing letters and numbers with the correct formation. They have particularly enjoyed using the Letter Join programme, which has helped them focus on forming letters with care and accuracy. It’s been wonderful to see how proud they are of their handwriting!
To support our fine motor development, we’ve also had fun making our own ladybirds out of playdough. This creative activity not only sparked lots of imaginative play but also helped strengthen the muscles in our fingers – very important for confident writing!
In Maths, we’ve been exploring the ideas of doubling and halving using real objects to help us understand how numbers can be split and combined. We have been grouping and sharing different amounts to help us think about odd and even numbers. The children have really enjoyed using practical resources to make their learning come to life!
Well done, Reception – we’re so proud of how much you’re learning and growing each week!
