Year 5 have been getting incredibly creative in both their Art and Design & Technology topics this term!
In Art, we explored installation pieces using everyday objects. Our classroom was completely transformed as we turned it upside down and used tables, chairs, books and even maths resources to build imaginative, fantastical worlds. It was a brilliant way to think outside the box and express our creativity – and we definitely had a lot of fun doing it!
In DT, we’ve been learning about the structure of bridges. After studying how different types of bridges are built, we put our knowledge into practice by designing and constructing our own truss bridges using straws. It’s been a great challenge that’s really tested our teamwork and engineering skills.
Next week, we’re looking forward to completing our final pieces for both Art and DT — we can’t wait to see how they all come together!
