Kenan’s class had a wonderful time visiting Walworth Gardens! The children enjoyed a hands-on experience planting their own seeds, demonstrating their knowledge of what plants need to grow. They explored the beautiful gardens, taking time to observe a variety of plants and animals, especially those living in and around the pond.
The children enjoyed walking through the greenhouses. The children discussed why certain plants thrive better in controlled environments, such as needing more warmth or protection from harsh weather.
One fascinating fact that amazed the class was about the cactus. The children were surprised to learn that cacti can survive in the desert because they store large amounts of water inside and their prickly spines help protect them from being eaten by animals like camels!
It was a fun and educational day that sparked curiosity and appreciation for the natural world.
