This half term in Design Technology in Year 1, our project was to make pencil pots. We began by learning about structures and why having a wide base is important for stability. After exploring different ideas, we planned our own designs, thinking carefully about shape, size and decoration. We then brought our designs to life using cardboard, and added colour and creativity with pencils and paints. It was a fun and hands-on project that helped us understand how everyday items are designed and built!
