In the final week of term, our Year 2 pupils visited the Bait ul Aziz Islamic Cultural Centre in Elephant and Castle. Having learnt so much about Islam this year, it was fantastic to see first-hand some of the key features we’ve explored in class, including the mihrab, prayer mats and the washrooms used for wudu.
The children showed great respect and curiosity throughout the visit and were especially attentive during the lunchtime prayers. A big thank you to our hosts for warmly welcoming us and giving us a tour of your place of worship — it was a valuable and memorable experience for all!
