Exploring Networks in Action! (Y3)

We’ve had a great start to Year 3 and are settling in well! In our first Computing lesson, we learned about networks – how computers, devices and people can be linked together to share information.

To explore the idea of a network, we went on a walk around the school and spotted lots of examples of connections: computers, printers, iPads, phones and even people working together. We thought about how each part is joined and how information travels between them.

Back in the classroom, we created our own web of connections to show how networks work. Each of us represented a device or person and we used string to connect ourselves together. We discovered that if one part is connected to another, information can flow all around the network – just like in our school computers!

It was a fun way to see how networks help us every day!
