Lucy’s class has made a brilliant start to Year 5. We’ve begun reading our new book, Kensuke’s Kingdom by Michael Morpurgo. As part of our reading, we’ve been exploring different types of stem questions to help deepen our understanding of the story. We’ve also been tracking the journey of our main character, Michael, as he sails around the world — including stops in La Coruña in Spain, across the Atlantic to Rio de Janeiro in Brazil, back across to Cape Town in South Africa and then onward to Perth in Australia. We’ve learnt lots of exciting new vocabulary along the way, and many of us are now feeling inspired to try sailing ourselves!
