Bee-utiful writing in Y1

In writing, Year 1 have been busy learning all about The Sleepy Bee. They have been learning this story together over the week and using it to build up our writing skills, ready to create our very own sleepy animal stories.

In our writing, we are focusing on creating golden sentences – making sure we use capital letters, finger spaces and full stops. We are also working hard to add adjectives to make our sentences even more exciting!

We also had a busy day of bee-themed fun – the children made their own bee puppets so they can act out the story, shared what they already know about bees with their partners and even created an extra-big bee in our outdoor area so we can enjoy some imaginative bee flights!
