Year 2 had a fantastic trip to the Horniman Museum to take part in the Around Africa workshop, linking perfectly to our Humanities topic, The Gambia.
The day began with bus journey to the museum and when we arrived, everyone was full of energy and curiosity! During the workshop, the children had the chance to explore different parts of African life. They dressed up in beautiful traditional clothing, visited a recreation of Accra Market in Ghana and even played with handmade toys. One of the highlights was learning about the Maasai people – discovering how they live, their customs and their vibrant culture.
After the workshop, we explored the aquarium, where students were fascinated by all the colourful sea creatures. Before heading back, there was plenty of time to enjoy the big playground.
