This week in the Nursery, we explored counting, routes and positional language through a fun game of Hide & Seek. The children worked together to find the Gingerbread Man, using words like in, on, under, up and down to describe where he was hiding.
Joseph wondered, “No, he’s not in the oven…where’s the Gingerbread Man gone?” Jayden excitedly described movement, saying, “Flamingo is climbing up, then sliding down!” Olivia spotted a tricky place, “Hiding, in the basketball net,” while Amelia helped her friends by explaining, “He’s only under the slide.”
The children have also been using Numicon to support their number learning. They enjoy learning to recognise amounts and numbers up to 10, helping them build confidence and a strong understanding of early Maths concepts.
Through playful learning, the children built their Maths vocabulary, confidence and teamwork – all while having lots of fun!
