Exploding with curiosity

Year 5 had a fantastic Science Day filled with curiosity and hands-on experiments and the children thoroughly enjoyed exploring a range of exciting activities! A colourful skittles investigation explored whether sugar dissolves faster in warm or hot water. The children loved watching the colours swirl and were surprised by how temperature affects dissolving. Things got messy with cornflour slime! By applying different amounts of force, the children discovered how it can act like both a liquid and a solid squeezing it made it firm, while gentle touches made it flow. It was a fun, exciting day full of questions, discoveries and budding young scientists!
