Year 4 had a fun filled day of DT and learning all about biscuits. The children explored the history of biscuits from our wonderful chef and then had the exciting opportunity to learn how to make them.
Next, pupils analysed existing biscuit products, focusing on taste, texture, appearance, packaging, and who they are marketed to. This experience helped develop their critical thinking and evaluation skills, in line with the National Curriculum Design and Technology objectives.
We finished the day with an engaging group activity where the pupils designed their own biscuits. They had to consider a specific target audience, choose unique ingredients and create a name and logo for their product. This task allowed them to apply their understanding of design processes and consumer needs creatively and collaboratively.
A fantastic day of practical learning and tasty fun!
