Ramadan is a very special month for many families in our school community. It is a time when Muslims around the world fast from sunrise to sunset, which means they do not eat or drink during daylight hours. Fasting is an important part of Ramadan because it helps people reflect, show kindness, and think about those who have less.
During Ramadan, many families spend extra time praying, reading the Quran, and helping others by giving to charity. It is also a time for coming together with loved ones. When the sun sets, families break their fast with a meal called Iftar, often starting with dates and water.
At school, we support our friends who are fasting by being understanding and kind. Some children may choose not to take part in physical activities or may feel more tired than usual. We encourage everyone to be respectful and caring towards one another.
Ramadan ends with a big celebration called Eid al-Fitr, which means “Festival of Breaking the Fast.” On this day, families come together for special prayers, delicious food, and the giving of gifts.
To all our families observing Ramadan, we wish you a peaceful and blessed month! Ramadan Mubarak!
