Last week, Year 5 visited the Royal Observatory to revisit our Spring topic on Space. We impressed the experts with what we remembered about planets, and even challenged them with our questions!
A highlight was the incredible planetarium show, followed by a Q&A with astronomer Joshua. We explored how the solar system formed, tackled tricky crosswords, and created comic strips.
In a hands-on workshop, we used models to understand the Sun, Earth, and Moon—covering orbits, day and night, and the lunar cycle. We even stood on the Prime Meridian line, with one foot in each hemisphere!
It was a fantastic day, and many of us said it was our best trip yet!
