Spring has truly come alive in Reception, and what an unforgettable few weeks it has been!
We were incredibly lucky to welcome a clutch of adorable ducklings into our classroom. These fluffy little visitors brought so much excitement, curiosity, and joy to our days.
From the moment they arrived as eggs, the children were fascinated. We carefully observed the hatching process, watching in awe as the ducklings began to break free from their shells. It was a magical experience to witness new life emerging right before our eyes.
As the days went on, we enjoyed watching the ducklings grow and develop. The children observed how they learned to eat, swim, and waddle around on their tiny webbed feet. Through this hands-on experience, we discovered that ducklings are semi-aquatic birds and learned all about their feeding, sleeping, and care needs. This experience also helped us understand the importance of looking after animals with kindness and responsibility. The children showed great care and enthusiasm in helping to look after our feathered friends.
Although we were sad to say goodbye, we are so pleased that the ducklings have gone to a wonderful home. A special thank you to Dilek, who has adopted them. We have loved receiving updates and seeing beautiful photos of the ducklings, now growing up happy and healthy.
What a fantastic way to celebrate the joys of spring and bring learning to life!
