On the last day before half term, Year 2 headed to the Horniman Museum for a workshop to learn more about Africa. Our Geography topic so this term has been about the Gambia and we’ve learned lots about continents and countries, as well as the difference between physical and human features. In our workshop, we got the chance to dress in some traditional clothes from the Masai people, experience what it might be like to visit Makola Market in Accra, Ghana and play with some toys made from recycled materials.
We also loved seeing the fish in the aquarium at the museum, as well as the mangrove swamps, which we learned was a natural feature of the Gambia. There was also some time for a play in the playground!
