Year 6 had a fantastic time celebrating Science Day by taking part in some experiments and investigations.
With Elspeth the children answered the question: ‘Which paper aircraft design can travel the furthest?’. They made paper gliders, helicopters and aeroplanes and then tested how far they flew. We had to measure using a trundle wheel as some flew over 7 meters!
With Jen they explored the question: ‘How does the number of Pringles used affect the strength of a Pringles ring?’. Using their understanding of gravity and friction, the children worked together to build their structures using only Pringles and with teamwork and perseverance, they overcame the challenge! To top it all off, the children enjoyed a well-earned reward by eating their Pringles once the investigation was complete!
