Year 4 have had a very busy and exciting few days! Last Thursday, we went to Burgess Park Cricket Grounds to take part in a tournament, testing the skills we’ve learnt recently in PE lessons. There were lots of other schools there, totalling 22 teams! However, as always, the Faraday children did not let us down. Despite only having had the same number of lessons as most of the other schools, two of our teams ranked in the top five, coming fourth and second respectively!
We are so so proud of them, not only for their amazing cricket skills but also their sportsmanship and resilience. They were cheering each other and the other teams and graciously accepted loss even in the final. Well done Year 4!

On Friday, we headed off to the Bank of England Museum to learn about the history of this important institution and to see how money has changed over time. The children really enjoyed looking at the different bank notes – we even spotted one with Michael Faraday on(!) – and attempting to lift a REAL gold bar! We also noticed how lots of the decoration of the bank was inspired by Roman architecture, and checked under a UV lamp that Kate’s £20 note was real… it was – phew! On the way back, a member of public approached Kate to tell her how well-behaved the children were! Well done Year 4, for doing us proud!
